Nigeria's Janet Akekoromowei Signs for Benfica Until 2028

The 18-year-old forward moves to Lisbon from domestic football in Nigeria, where she came through as part of the Flamingos setup and featured for the country at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia.

Announcing the move on Instagram, Akekoromowei called it the fulfilment of a childhood dream and thanked her family, her management team and Benfica for making it happen.
