Enyimba Deny Owing Ex-Players Nweke and Ufere, Warn of Legal Action Over Claims

In a statement issued by the club's media department on Sunday, Enyimba said the allegations, made publicly by content creator Prince Worlu, are false. The Aba-based club said the contracts of both players expired in June and that each received his final month's salary before departure. Enyimba added that Nweke and Chinedu had already received their clearance papers and, according to the statement, personally thanked club chairman Nwankwo Kanu over WhatsApp for the support they received during their time at the club.

"We honour contracts and have done justice to our financial obligations to the player. We have also released his clearance papers to him," the club said.

Enyimba said it could pursue legal action against Prince Worlu if what it called "constant attack and defamation of character" against the club continues.
