NEC FC Part Ways With Five Players Ahead of New Uganda Premier League Season
Midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba and centre-back Patrick Bayiga leave after their contracts expired, ending two-year spells at the club. Both were regular starters for NEC but saw reduced playing time last season, particularly following the exit of former head coach Hussein Mbalangu.
"Every journey has its final whistle," NEC said in a farewell statement. "Your dedication to the badge will always be appreciated. Wishing you all the very best in your future endeavours."
Jackson Ssembatya, Siraje Sentamu and Timothy Muwanguzi also leave, with their contracts terminated by mutual agreement. Ssembatya has already signed for Kitara FC, while Sentamu is expected to complete a move to Express FC in the coming days.
NEC are yet to confirm any new signings this window, though the club is reportedly closing in on Enrique Lubwama, the reigning Uganda Premier League Best Young Player.
