Mukarama Abdulai Completes Turkish Move to Ünye Kadın FK After Hasaacas Spell

Mukarama Abdulai is back in European football. The Ghana international has signed for Turkish Women's Super League side Safi Mcl Bentonit Ünye Kadın FK, arriving from Hasaacas Ladies of the Ghana Women's Premier League, Pan Africa Football reported.
Ünye Kadın FK confirmed the signing across its club channels, welcoming the 23-year-old ahead of the new season and describing her as a Ghanaian national team player and top scorer of the 2018 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup.
That tournament in Uruguay remains the high point of Abdulai's career so far. She scored seven goals and added two assists to win the Golden Boot, including a hat-trick against the host nation in the opening match that also earned her the Bronze Ball.
Her career since has taken her through Northern Ladies FC in Ghana, a two-year spell at Spanish club Deportivo Alavés from 2021, and a return home to Hasaacas Ladies in September 2023 after she and Alavés mutually terminated her contract that January. Injuries have slowed her in recent seasons, and the move to Turkey is her attempt to re-establish herself in a major European league.
Her senior international career has followed the same upward arc. Abdulai debuted for Ghana at the 2019 WAFU Zone B Women's Cup in Ivory Coast, scoring in a 2-0 win over Senegal. In March 2024, she scored in extra time as Ghana beat Nigeria 2-1 to win gold in the women's football final at the All-African Games.
For Ghanaian football, the move keeps one of its most decorated young forwards in a competitive European setup, and gives her a real chance to rebuild form and fitness ahead of the Black Queens' next assignments.
