Morocco Thrash Kenya 4-0 to Open WAFCON Title Bid

Hosts Morocco beat Kenya 4-0 on Sunday to open their WAFCON Morocco 2026 campaign, headlining the first day of Group A action.
Sakina Ouzraoui broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, finishing off Yasmin Mrabet's pass. Maryame Atiq doubled the lead in the 28th minute with a header from a corner, before Ibtissam Jraidi added a third just minutes later, converting Hanane Ait El Haj's cross. Jraidi completed her brace just over a minute into the second half, again from an Ait El Haj delivery.
Morocco, runners-up in the previous two editions, are chasing a first WAFCON title on home soil. They face Algeria on Thursday in a North African derby that could decide top spot in Group A, after Algeria beat Senegal in Sunday's other Group A fixture. Kenya play Senegal on the same day, with both sides looking for their first points.
