Mbappe pushed Michael Olise toward Real Madrid move, says Foot Mercato
Real Madrid are being linked with Michael Olise after Kylian Mbappe reportedly told the winger during the 2026 World Cup that Real Madrid want him, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. No talks have taken place between the two clubs, and this remains interest from Madrid's camp rather than an active negotiation.
Olise, 24, finished the 2026 World Cup with more assists than any other player, seven in total, following a Bayern season in which he scored 22 goals and added 31 assists in 52 matches. Real Madrid have taken note, though Olise's Bayern contract runs to June 2029 and contains no release clause.
Foot Mercato reports Olise wants the move, where he would rejoin France team-mates Aurelien Tchouameni and Mbappe. German outlet Bild adds that Olise shared his wish to join Madrid with France colleagues during the tournament and responded well to Mbappe's encouragement.
Mbappe is said to have spent the tournament talking up the move, from Real Madrid's ambitions to life in the Spanish capital, and later relayed Olise's positive response to club president Florentino Perez.
Olise is also reported to have doubts about winning the Champions League at Bayern following France's World Cup semi final exit to Spain, and Bayern remain reluctant to sell. Spanish media have suggested Perez would be willing to pay more than €200 million, a figure Bayern board member Uli Hoeness has previously dismissed as unlikely to change the club's stance.
