Hull City Beat Manchester United for the First Time in the Premier League

Newly promoted Hull City made a dream return to the Premier League by beating Manchester United 2-0 at the MKM Stadium.
Semi Ajayi opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Nobel Mendy doubled Hull’s lead in the 38th minute. Both goals came from set pieces.
Manchester United had most of the possession but struggled to create clear chances. Michael Carrick’s team could not find a way back into the match after Hull took control in the first half.
The victory is a historic one for Hull. It was their first league win over Manchester United in 52 years and their first-ever Premier League victory against the Red Devils.
For United, the defeat is a disappointing start to Carrick’s first full season in charge.
