Torres Tells Barcelona He Wants PSG Move, Terms Agreed

Ferran Torres has told Barcelona he wants to leave the club this summer to join Paris Saint-Germain, with personal terms already agreed between the player and the Ligue 1 champions, according to Goal. ESPN reports the move would reunite the 26 year old with Luis Enrique, who coached Torres with the Spanish national team.

Torres has just one year left on his Barcelona contract, and the club are reportedly ready to let him go if PSG meet their valuation. Barcelona signed the forward from Manchester City in 2021 for around €55 million, and he has since moved from a wide role into a more central attacking position over the past two seasons, filling the gap left by Robert Lewandowski's departure.

Losing Torres would add urgency to Barcelona's search for a striker. Hansi Flick is short on options up front following Lewandowski's exit to Chicago Fire, and while Julián Alvarez remains the club's top target, Atletico Madrid's reluctance to sell could push Barcelona toward alternatives.

Torres is coming off a career high after helping Spain win the World Cup this summer, scoring the extra time winner against Argentina in the final. He is currently on a break before returning for pre-season, with his future expected to be resolved before then.
