Super Falcons-Black Queens Friendly Called Off Days Before WAFCON

Nigeria's Super Falcons will not play Ghana's Black Queens after all. The friendly, scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Casablanca as part of both teams' WAFCON preparations, has been cancelled.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the news through the Super Falcons' official X account on Friday: "The friendly match between the Super Falcons and the Black Queens planned for Saturday, 18 July 2026 in Casablanca is off, due to unforeseen circumstances."

Neither the NFF nor the Ghana Football Association has explained the cancellation or said whether the fixture will be rearranged.

The result leaves Nigeria, the record African champions, without their intended final tune-up before the tournament proper. The Super Falcons remain in Morocco for training as they finish preparations for a Group C campaign against Zambia, Egypt and Malawi.
