Real Madrid move closer to Yan Diomande after PSG withdraw from race for RB Leipzig forward

Paris Saint-Germain have pulled out of the race to sign Yan Diomande, leaving Real Madrid increasingly confident of landing the RB Leipzig forward. PSG said in a statement to Sky in Germany that the asking fee and wage demands were "completely disproportionate and distortive," adding they would not break their "principles of rational financial management and squad balance."

Real have already agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old and had an £85.4m (€100m) bid turned down, with Leipzig still holding out for more. Diomande had previously leaned toward joining PSG and had agreed a contract with the French club running to 2031, but Sky Sports News understands he now looks destined for the Bernabeu, with Real hoping to finalise a deal this week.

Liverpool have also shown interest but are unwilling to go beyond £85m, while Arsenal and Manchester City remain keen. With PSG out of the picture, they're expected to turn their attention back to Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche instead.
