Mory Diaw Leaves Le Havre for Al Shabab After Losing His Place to Edouard Mendy
Mory Diaw has left Le Havre for Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab, with both clubs confirming the move on Sunday. The Senegal goalkeeper had already been dropped to the bench for Le Havre's Ligue 1 opener against AS Monaco, a sign the exit was coming.
Diaw, 33, had a strong 2025/26 campaign for Le Havre, keeping seven clean sheets in 30 appearances, according to Pan Africa Football. He also featured in three matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after first-choice Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy picked up an injury, filling in at cricital moments for the Teranga Lions.
Le Havre thanked Diaw for his contribution and wished him well, while Al Shabab confirmed the signing with a video announcement on their official account. He becomes the latest Senegalese international to join the Saudi Pro League, joining Mendy, Sadio Mane, Kalidou Koulibaly and Idrissa Gana Gueye already playing in the country.
Diaw came through the Paris Saint-Germain academy before making his name at Clermont Foot, where he helped the club win promotion to Ligue 1. He has been capped by Senegal since 2023.
