Monaco Reject Crystal Palace's €50m Bid for Lamine Camara
AS Monaco have turned down an opening offer from Crystal Palace for Lamine Camara, with the Ligue 1 club holding out for a fee closer to €60 million for their Senegalese midfielder.
The rejected bid, reported at around €50 million by Nice Matin and picked up widely in the English press, arrived as Palace looked to beat Liverpool and Manchester United to Camara's signature this summer. Camara, who joined Monaco from FC Metz in 2024, is under contract until June 2029, which has given the club room to negotiate rather than sell under pressure.
Monaco head coach Filipe Luis addressed the interest after his side beat Liverpool 3-2 in a pre-season friendly at Anfield on Sunday, a game Camara started. Speaking to reporters, Luis said Camara is "probably one of the best midfielders in the world," adding that he did not want to say too much given how many clubs are watching him, according to Goal.com.
The 22-year-old has represented Senegal since 2022 and started all four of the Lions of Teranga's matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before their round-of-32 exit. For now, Camara remains a Monaco player. Whether that holds through the rest of the window depends on whether Palace, or anyone else circling, is willing to meet Monaco's number.
