Flying Eagles Drawn With Ghana, Togo and Burkina Faso in WAFU B U20 Title Defence

Nigeria's Flying Eagles have been drawn into a group with Ghana's Black Satellites, Togo's Junior Sparrow Hawks and Burkina Faso's Young Stallions at the WAFU B U20 Championship, hosted by Cote d'Ivoire. Wednesday's draw placed the four sides in Group B, while hosts Cote d'Ivoire, Benin Republic and Niger Republic make up Group A.
Head coach Abdu Maikaba's squad, 23 players in total, departs Nigeria on Monday, with the top two finishers from the tournament claiming WAFU B's tickets to next year's U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
Nigeria arrive as defending champions after beating Ghana 2-1 in the final of the last edition, staged in Lome in 2024. The Flying Eagles are seven-time African champions at U20 level and two-time FIFA U20 World Cup runners-up.
