Crystal Palace close in on $15m deal for USMNT winger Zavier Gozo

Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal to sign Real Salt Lake winger/wingback Zavier Gozo, with sources telling Goal the fee is expected to land around $15 million.

Gozo had made his hopes of a European move known earlier this year, drawing interest from clubs including Ajax and Monaco. Real Salt Lake had preferred to keep him for the rest of the season and would only sell for a fee that priced out most non Premier League suitors. Aston Villa were among four Premier League clubs who pursued him before Palace pulled ahead. News of Palace's interest was first reported by the Athletic.

Sources say the deal is expected to be wrapped up within 24 hours, with Gozo set for a medical with Palace this week. He's tipped to start for Real Salt Lake in tonight's Leagues Cup tie against Tigres, possibly his final appearance for the club.
