Jamie Carragher warns Liverpool off £100m Bradley Barcola move, says Mohamed Salah replacement should come first

Liverpool are preparing to make a first bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with PSG valuing him at around €150m (£129m), according to ESPN. No formal offer has been submitted yet.

Jamie Carragher has questioned the logic of the move given Barcola's natural position is on the left, an area already stocked at Anfield with Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and new signing Victor Munoz. Speaking to Sky Sports News, the former Reds defender said Liverpool's priority should be replacing Salah on the right, adding: "Barcola doesn't replace Mo Salah."

Carragher also raised concerns over what a Barcola deal would mean for 17-year-old Ngumoha's development, noting the teenager is "better than Rio Ngumoha right now" in terms of transfer value but still needs regular football to progress. He said signing Barcola alongside moving on some of the club's existing wide options would make the business "fantastic," but only if paired with a genuine right-wing addition.

Liverpool must resolve the imbalance before their Premier League opener away at Newcastle on August 23.
