Chelsea confirm £52m signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace on long-term deal to 2032
Chelsea have completed the signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace, with the France international putting pen to paper on a contract running through to 2032. The deal, confirmed by the club, is reportedly worth around £52 million, according to Goal.
The 26-year-old joins as the latest piece in Xabi Alonso's rebuild at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, and will link up with his new teammates immediately for pre-season. Lacroix leaves Selhurst Park with silverware to show for his two seasons there, having made 98 appearances and won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League with Palace.
Speaking after his move was announced, Lacroix pointed to shared ambitions with his new manager. "When I spoke with the manager, I saw that we have the same direction and desire for this club," he said. "We want to win... The ambition is to lift trophies, and I can't wait to contribute."
The defender made his France debut earlier this year and went on to feature three times at the World Cup as Les Bleus finished fourth. With his future settled, he's expected to compete immediately for a starting berth in Alonso's backline.
