Al-Ahli complete Abdullah Radif signing after Al-Ittihad withdraw from deal
Al-Ahli have completed the signing of striker Abdullah Radif following his departure from Al-Hilal, after neighbours and rivals Al-Ittihad withdrew from an agreed deal for the player.
Al-Hilal announced on 7 July that Radif had left the club permanently, five years after his promotion to the first team squad. He spent loan spells at Al-Taawoun, Al-Shabab, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Fayha during that period.
According to Saudi outlet Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Ahli have agreed a four year contract with Radif running until 2030. He had previously agreed terms with Al-Ittihad on a three year deal worth 27 million riyals, working out to 9 million riyals per season, before Al-Ittihad pulled out citing a lack of financial liquidity to complete the move.
At Al-Ahli, the 23 year old is expected to operate as third choice striker, competing with Brazilian forward Ricardo Matias behind England international Ivan Toney and Saudi Arabia's Firas Al-Buraikan.
Radif becomes Al-Ahli's sixth arrival of the summer window, joining Gambian defender Aboubacar Sidy Kante, Portugal's Francisco Trincao, Armenia's Eduard Spertsyan, and Saudi pair Meshaal Al-Mutairi and Nayef Masoud. His last run of games came on loan at Al-Fayha in the second half of last season, where he made eight appearances without scoring but registered two assists.
